Video: F1 Champ Damon Hill makes Journalist Carsick during Mercedes SL55 AMG Test Drive

Honestly, this has to be one of the funniest, automotive related videos we've seen for quite a while now. In a nutshell, former F1 champion, Damon Hill, took a motoring journalist for a quick spin in a Mercedes SL55 AMG with upsetting results for the reporter's 'tummy'. Don't get us wrong, we feel for the poor journalist and in all fairness, we too might have required a "barfy" pitstop after sitting in the passenger seat with Damon behind the steering wheel, but still, we can't stop laughing! And oh, thumbs up for Hill's closing comment... Video after the jump.

Video: Merc's 670HP SL65 AMG Black Series in Action

Not that the recently updated Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG with its 612HP twin-turbocharged V12 engine isn't powerful or fast enough, but you'll always have a few customers -very few to be honest- that crave for something a bit more special, a bit more fast and a whole lot more expensive. The result was the introduction of the SL 65 AMG 'Black Series' of which only 350 will be produced, with around 200 of those earmarked for the U.S. As a typical example of Merc's 'Black Series' cars, this SL has been stripped out and tuned to the bone. Among other upgrades the 'Black Series' has been enhanced with a fixed carbon-fiber rooftop and a tweaked 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine producing 670HP and a monstrous 738 lbs/ft of torque. Hit the jump for a narrated video of the car or click here for details and photos.

Video: Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series

With 670Hp and 1,000 Nm of torque, the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series is the most powerful model to come out of the AMG factory yet. But the Black Series is not only more powerful it’s also 250kg or 550 pounds lighter than its 612Hp SL65 AMG stablemate thanks to the fixed carbon-fiber reinforced plastic rooftop, the lightweight alloy wheels and the numerous carbon fiber composites bodywork components. As a result, the Black Series needs just 3.9 sec to reach 100 km/h (62mph) while 200 km/h (124mph) is attained after 11.0 sec. The top speed is electronically limited at 320 km/h or 199mph. -Videos after the jump

Official: Brabus Tunes the 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL up to 730Hp

Mercedes-Benz tuning specialist Brabus has released official information and images on its sport program for the updated 2009 SL Roadster. Brabus usually equals lots of power and the SL is no exception. The German tuner’s top-of-the-line proposition is based on the SL 600 and it’s equipped with the Brabus SV12 S Biturbo engine, developed originally for the Brabus Rocket.

The 6.3-liter bi-turbocharged V12 engine produces 730 hp of power and a whopping peak torque of 1,320 Nm (973 lb-ft), electronically limited in the car to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft). Power is transferred via a reinforced 5-speed automatic transmission and a special limited-slip differential that is available for all SL models. Brabus says that with this engine, the SL needs 4.0 sec to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) and 10.0 sec to reach 200 km/h (124 mph). Top speed is electronically limited to 350 km/h (219 mph). -Continued

Brabus also offers upgrade kits for the rest of the SL range, with the SL 65 AMG producing 652 or 715 Hp, the SL 63 AMG 565 Hp, the SL 500 (US: SL 550) 462 Hp, while the company replaces the V6 engine on the SL 280 and SL 350 with a 4.0 V6 unit producing 332Hp.

For all SL models with ABC active suspension Brabus has developed an electronic module that lowers the ride height by some 25 mm while buyers can choose between four different high-performance brake systems versions. The largest one features vented and cross-drilled front discs measuring 375 x 36 mm (14.8 x 1.4 inches), and 12-piston fixed calipers. The rear discs measure 355 x 28 mm (14.0 x 1.1 inches) and come with six-piston fixed calipers.

Moving on to Brabus’ bodykit, the SL’s appearance receives some added zest with new bumpers, LED daytime running lights as well as auxiliary high beams and fog lamps in the front and rocker panels. The German tuner also offers four different alloy wheel designs with diameters of 17, 18, 19 and 20 inches.

For the SL’s interior, there’s a large list of products including scuff plates with illuminated BRABUS-logo and an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel with shift paddles.

Ghastly Tuned Mercedes-Benz SL

What in the world would make someone turn one of the classiest roadsters in the market today into this “6-eyed” metal monstrosity? As for the exhaust pipe cluster in the rear-end, it looks more like a swollen, well let’s not get vulgar… -More pics after the jump
