Tulsa Man Drives Mercedes through Parking Wall Backwards! [with Video]

A couple of days ago, 67-year-old Ralph Hudson backed his Mercedes-Benz C-Class out of a parking garage in Tulsa, Oklahoma (let's hear it for the Golden Hurricane!).

Only problem is, he was 7 stories up. According to his statement, his foot was caught between the accelerator and brake pedals. Luckily, he wasn't hurt or killed.

The same can't be said for some of the cars below, which got beat up by falling bricks. Ah well, accidents will happen... Video after the break.

Spy Video: 2012 Mercedes-Benz M-Class SUV

The countdown is on to the new Mercedes-Benz M-Class SUV that will roll out of Stuttgart sometime in the second-half of 2011. Last time we brought you some early scoop photos of the new SUV on one of its first tests on road. Now, spies have video-snagged the next M-Class during winter testing.

Sharing a platform with the new Jeep Grand Cherokee and the upcoming 2012 Dodge Durango, the M-Class will get a revised engine lineup that will most likely include a next-generation hybrid powertrain with plug-in capability.

The heavy camouflage on the prototype hides a lot of the details, but expect the firm's BMW X5 rival to feature a 'boxier' shape with similar detailing to Merc's latest models such as the E-Class.

VIDEO: Gran Turismo 5 Teaser Film with Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing

About a week ago, we told you that the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing is being featured in the fifth installment of the Sony PlayStation 3 video game Gran Turismo. Now, besides publishing in-game shots of the SLS AMG, Mercedes-Benz and the creators of the racing game have also released a teaser film of the gullwing model racing in the virtual world of the GT5, which is expected to hit retail stores sometime in 2010.

Kazunori Yamauchi, who is the creator and producer of the highly popular Gran Turismo series and in addition, both Senior Vice President of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. and President of Polyphony Digital Inc, said that he subjected the SLS AMG to an extensive test drive on the famous Nordschleife race circuit before adding the supercar to the game.

"The performance of the SLS AMG is unbelievable," said Yamauchi. "Despite the Nordschleife being an extremely undulating track, the gullwing remains extremely stable. Driving this unique super sports car in Gran Turismo 5 will be a fantastic experience."

VIDEO: Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadsters Spied During Testing in the USA

With the recent introduction of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Stuttgart's focus is now on the roadster version that's due in late 2011. Filmed here by the spies at Auto Motor und Sport during hot-weather testing in Death Valley, California, the SLS AMG Roadster appears to be fitted with a traditional canvas top. Also, the fixed handles on the doors suggest that the trademark gullwing doors of the coupe have been replaced by either regular or scissor-type doors like the ones featured on the topless McLaren SLR.

Don't expect to see any changes under the elongated bonnet that measures an astonishing 2 meters or 78-inches in length, with the Roadster model keeping the same AMG 6.3-liter V8 found in the coupe that delivers 571 HP at 6,800 rpm and a peak torque of 650Nm (479 lb-ft) at 4,750 rpm.

Power will be sent to the rear axle through a dual-clutch seven-speed sports transmission.

Mercedes-Benz says that the gullwing-door coupe reaches 62mph (100km/h) from standstill in 3.8 seconds and continues to accelerate up to an electronically limited top speed of 317km/h or 197 mph. We suspect that due to the added weight of the structural reinforcements and the roof mechanism, the convertible may be slightly slower than the coupe model.

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Driver Plays Dodgem Cars in Poland - with Video

A Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren was completely destroyed in Warsaw, Poland this past weekend when the 23-year-old driver of the German supercar lost control of the vehicle and crossed onto the opposite side of the road colliding with several oncoming cars including a Mitsubishi Outlander SUV. Though not officially confirmed by the police, Polish media reported that the SLR McLaren driver was racing against a Ferrari when the accident happened.

If we translated the report correctly, it also appears that the McLaren driver was traveling/racing with his young child in the car... Fortunately no one was killed in the crash though some of the accident victims were taken to the hospital.

Thanks for tip Martin ! Source: Alert24

Video: F1 Champ Damon Hill makes Journalist Carsick during Mercedes SL55 AMG Test Drive

Honestly, this has to be one of the funniest, automotive related videos we've seen for quite a while now. In a nutshell, former F1 champion, Damon Hill, took a motoring journalist for a quick spin in a Mercedes SL55 AMG with upsetting results for the reporter's 'tummy'. Don't get us wrong, we feel for the poor journalist and in all fairness, we too might have required a "barfy" pitstop after sitting in the passenger seat with Damon behind the steering wheel, but still, we can't stop laughing! And oh, thumbs up for Hill's closing comment... Video after the jump.

2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS Scooped on Film

The car that gave birth to the so-called four-door coupe segment, the Mercedes-Benz CLS, is going to be replaced by a brand new model that is expected to hit the market in late 2010 or early 2011. Captured here during winter testing in northern Scandinavia, the prototype CLS appears to retain the low-slung shape of the current model though it's very difficult to see any specific design details due to the heavy camouflage that covers the entire body of the saloon.

The next-generation CLS will share its hardware with the latest iteration of the E-Class sedan, so don't except any surprises under the hood. Powertrain options will include a 3.5-liter V6 with 292HP, a 5.5-liter V8 with 388HP and a 525HP 6.2-liter V8 for the sporty AMG version.

Video: Merc's 670HP SL65 AMG Black Series in Action

Not that the recently updated Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG with its 612HP twin-turbocharged V12 engine isn't powerful or fast enough, but you'll always have a few customers -very few to be honest- that crave for something a bit more special, a bit more fast and a whole lot more expensive. The result was the introduction of the SL 65 AMG 'Black Series' of which only 350 will be produced, with around 200 of those earmarked for the U.S. As a typical example of Merc's 'Black Series' cars, this SL has been stripped out and tuned to the bone. Among other upgrades the 'Black Series' has been enhanced with a fixed carbon-fiber rooftop and a tweaked 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine producing 670HP and a monstrous 738 lbs/ft of torque. Hit the jump for a narrated video of the car or click here for details and photos.
