VW Enhances Passat CC with Three-Seat Rear Bench and Equipment Upgrades in the UK

For the 2010 model year, Volkswagen has upgraded the UK-market Passat CC with a three-seat rear bench and new standard features on the base and GT trim levels. When the German automaker first introduces the so-called "four-door coupe" version of the Passat, the CC was offered only as a four-seater. Apparently, buyers wanted one more seat in the back.

New rear seat bench aside, the base Passat CC gains a satellite navigation system along with a touchscreen Bluetooth device as standard while the GT model also gets Nappa leather interior, front and rear parking sensors and cruise control.

Volkswagen says that while these changes represent an extra £1,000 worth of equipment on the entry-level model and £3,000 on the GT, the revised Passat CC Base and GT will cost only £515 and £1,000 more respectively than the models they replace.

The existing line-up of 1.8-litre TSI, 2.0-litre TSI and 3.6-litre V6 gasoline engines and 2.0-litre TDI diesel engines remain, as does the choice of six-speed manual or DSG gearboxes.

Prices for the 2010MY Passat CC start at £22,645 RRP on the road for the 1.8-litre TSI model.
